Newspaper Guild of New York records, 1935-1998.

The Records of the Newspaper Guild of New York are arranged in three series: Series I: Early records, 1935-1950, contains general correspondence and reference files on individuals, organizations and topics of importance to the union; Series II: General files, 1951-1998, contains general correspondence and reference files; Series III. Shop files, 1951-1998, consists of groups of related files arranged by "shop," that is, generally by the names of individual publications or publishers (included are the major New York City daily newspapers, as well as weekly newspapers, magazines and publishing syndicates). Files contain correspondence, publicity material, bargaining material and grievance records. Processed material is open for research; Others are available for research by special appointment only.
